With October in full swing, the shop is finally cooling down a bit so that I can spend more time making things. The summer makes the shop really hot, and in Arizona, temperatures of 115 degrees are not uncommon. I’m really excited, because it’s going to be busy.
Busy October and More to Work On
With the cooler weather I will be working on more projects and taking pictures so I can post them here as tutorials. I don’t know exactly what I will be covering yet, but I do have a few good ideas that I think will be a lot of fun.
I hope to spend a lot of time in the shop, and get several projects made so that I can spend the warmer months writing.
It’s definitely a seasonal thing, and I try my best to write more when it’s hot. When it cools down, that’s when I transition into being in the shop. The back and forth between the two areas of my work allow me to fully enjoy one aspect and then fully enjoy the next.
My Next Book
While I can’t reveal the content of the next book just yet, I am working on another book that will surely make the woodworkers that visit the site happy. I hope to have it ready and available sometime this month, and I will let everyone know when that happens.
I like switching back and forth between woodworking books and guitar making books. It’s a nice switch for me, because I can enjoy one type of project and then switch to another. Both stay fresh, and neither ever feels like a chore.
That’s a real secret to woodworking. Make sure that you are learning new things and trying new things so that you constantly expand your woodworking ability. This way, you do so many different things that they can’t get old.
