How do you finish your guitars: with the bridge on or off?

What finishes do you use (acoustic guitars) and what is your process for finishing them?

Thank you Jeff. I use Tru-Oil for the majority of my guitars, but I also spray instrument grade lacquer from cans, which is every bit as effective as machine spraying, though it will take a little longer.

I typically finish with the bridge in place, which just makes it easier all around.

On this site I have a post on my process for applying Tru-Oil, which you can read through, and there is also another post with a video.

I don’t have anything online at the moment on working with lacquer, but the principles of hand finishing still apply.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions and happy building
