Is there a particular vise that is better suited for making wooden rings? Something that makes holding the blanks really easy?
Any type of vice that is capable of holding the bottom 40% of your ring blank is suitable for making wooden rings.
All you really need is to be able to hold the ring still while you work it with files and sandpaper.
The burden is very low on your vice, and almost any kind will work.
If you are shopping, a small bench top vice will work perfectly, and you can also use it for a lot of other things too.
