My dad was a carpenter but between sports and working in our restaurant, I never did much with him. I can’t wait till it gets warmer so I can do work in my garage.
So many of your comments are so hugely valuable… and I’m living on Pinterest getting ideas. I am selling some of my tools and getting some cordless stuff…but wonder if I should be buying the expensive Dewalt or would I be fine with Ryobi or others.
I have read tool reviews and they have been helpful as well. Thanks so much for this article…it really is awesome.
Thanks Jim. I’m happy to see that you are excited about woodworking, and I really appreciate the kind words.
While I do have some “nicer” tools from more robust brands like Veritas and DeWalt, I have far more Ryobi tools than any other. They have all been great, and you can do just as well with either.
In the end, it’s really more about you than anything else. If you really want to make things from wood, you will look at your tools differently and enjoy using them.
The higher end tools are nice, but the middle of the road works well too.
If you have any questions on your journey feel free to post them, I will be glad to help.
