If you have a fretboard that is in need of slotting, what’s the easiest way to make all the slots without any complicated measuring or super accurate cutting?

The easiest way to slot a fretboard is to buy one already slotted. Short of that, the next easiest method is to use a guitar fretboard slotting jig.

There are a number of jigs on the market if you want to buy one, however you can make one just as easily in the shop.

My fret slotting jig plans are very good, and they use another fretboard that is already slotted as your index to make frets on the new board.

This means you ever have to measure, and you can slot an entire fretboard without pulling out your ruler once.

To see the fret slotting jig in action, take a look at My Guitar Fretboard Slotting Jig

Happy building.
